Leonard brings over 50 years of financial expertise to Bateman Realty. A 1970 graduate of Valdosta State College with a BS in Business, he went on to earn an MBA with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of North Florida. He began his banking career in Jacksonville, Florida, with the former Atlantic National Bank, and went on to a distinguished 52-year career in banking, retiring from Bank of Hazlehurst. Leonard joined his wife’s real estate company, bringing decades of financial insight to every transaction. Throughout his career, Leonard worked closely with people at every level, both as a lender and as a dedicated community leader across the markets he served. He has contributed his time and expertise to numerous organizations, including local Chambers of Commerce, Local Development Authorities, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, and library boards — reflecting a lifelong commitment to the communities he calls home.
